South Korean ambassador, Iranian deputy culture minister meet
TEHRAN – South Korean Ambassador Ryu Jeong-Hyun met the Iranian deputy culture Minister for Cultural Affair, Mohsen Javadi, on Wednesday.
The meeting was held during Ryu’s visit to the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced.
In addition to the close economic and political relations, both countries should also take measures to expand cultural ties, Ryu said.
He announced Korea’s plan to organize numerous cultural festival for autumn, and invited Iranian artists and cultural figures to attend the events.
He said that participation in the cultural program can provide a useful perspective on more extensive cultural collaborations between the two countries.
He also expressed his hope that his country will host Iran as a guest of honor at the Seoul International Book Fair in the future.
Ryu also asked the Iranian culture ministry to give an opportunity to South Korea as a special guest in one of the next editions of the Tehran book fair to introduce its culture.
Javadi, who is also the director of the Tehran book fair, said that Korean films and art and literary works have been warmly welcomed in Iran over the past decade and added that the culture ministry also welcomes any plan to boost cultural ties between the two countries.
