Rouhani officially welcomes Pakistan PM
TEHRAN – Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, was officially welcomed at Sadabad Palace by President Hassan Rouhani on Monday.
During the welcoming ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were played.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Transport Minister Mohammad Eslami, Health Minister Saeed Namaki, and presidential chief of staff Mahmoud Vaezi were present at welcoming the Pakistani prime minister and his accompanying delegation.
Khan is accompanied by Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari, Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi, Adviser to PM on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Zafarullah Mirza, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Petroleum Nadeem Baber.
Prime Minister Khan arrived in Tehran late on Sunday after first visiting the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in the northeastern city of Mashhad.
It is the first time that Khan is visiting Iran since he was elected prime minister in August 2018.
