“Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore” published in Persian

TEHRAN – American writer Matthew Sullivan’s novel “Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore” has recently been published in Persian by Markaz Publications in Tehran.
Translated by Hassan Afshar, the 2017 book is about Lydia Smith, a bookstore clerk, who lives her life hiding in plain sight until the day Joey Molina, the owner of the bookstore, commits suicide in the bookstore’s upper room.
Sullivan’s short stories have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and other awards, and have won the Florida Review Editor’s Prize and the Robert Olen Butler Fiction Prize.
