6 tons of narcotics seized in Sistan-Baluchestan

TEHRAN – The Iranian police have confiscated a huge haul of narcotics in an armed clash in the border province of Sistan-Baluchestan, disbanding a big drug trafficking group in Mehrestan.

The provincial police chief Mohammad Ghanbari said on Tuesday that in the clash that went on for four hours, a 6-ton consignment of illicit drugs was seized, Mehr reported.

He added that the armed clash left a number of criminals dead and injured, adding that fortunately no police force was killed or harmed at the scene.
