TEHRAN – Director General of the Bureau for Planning at Iran’s Water and Wastewater Engineering Company said currently over 19,600 villages across the country are being supplied with sustainable drinking water through pipelines.

“With the construction of 1,020 water supply facilities in the rural areas across the country, there are now over 19,600 villages having sustainable drinking water.” Amirhossein Raghimi told IRIB on Thursday.

“Of course due to severe drought in some areas, a number of villages still require mobile water supply.” he added.

According to the official, currently, 74 percent of the country's rural areas are equipped with mobile water facilities.
