TEHRAN – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has condemned Poland’s act of hosting a U.S.-led anti-Iran summit, reminding the Polish government of Iran’s hospitality to Polish refugees during WWII.
“Since 1942, 1892 Poles have been resting in piece in central Tehran. More than 100,000 Poles returned [home] after freed from Stalin’s labor camps. Cemeteries in Iran can be replaced after 30 years, but the people of Tehran have kept their guests out of respect for 77 years,” Araqchi wrote on Twitter on Saturday.
