Industrial, energy projects worth $436m inaugurated
TEHRAN - Iranian First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri inaugurated major industrial and energy projects worth 18.33 trillion rials (about $436.4 million) in Kashan County, central Iran, on Sunday, IRNA reported.
The senior official opened a steam unit in Kashan Combined-Cycle Power Plant. The unit which was built at the cost of 16.5 trillion rials (about $392.8 million) rose the power plant’s generation capacity to 484 megawatts (MW) from 324 MW.
The first production line of ductile iron utility poles was another project put into operation by the first vice-president. The production line came on stream at the cost of 500 billion rials (about $11.9 million) and created direct jobs for 500 persons.
Jahangiri also inaugurated the second modular unit in Kashan Wastewater Treatment Plant, which increased the capacity of the plant by 20,000 cubic meters per day. The related project cost 1.33 trillion rials (about $31.6 million).
