TEHRAN – The Intelligence Ministry announced on Monday that it had arrested 25 members of two criminal networks that had infiltrated into Iran’s banking and foreign currency systems.
In a statement, the Intelligence Ministry said it had dismantled two criminal networks on charges of economic corruption, Mehr reported.
The arrests were made in provinces of Qazvin, Tehran, Mazandaran, and East Azerbaijna, the statement read, adding that the convicts have been handed over to judiciary officials to stand trial.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei last June ordered officials to deal firmly with those who “disturb the economy”.
