Padideh move top of Iran Professional League

TEHRAN – Padideh moved top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) after being held against Esteghlal football team here at the Azadi Stadium on Thursday.

Padideh sit top of the table with 31 points.

Sepahan, who will play Esteghlal Khuzestan on Saturday, are second with 30 point and Persepolis sit third with 28 points.

Persepolis will face Pars Jonoubi on Friday.

on Wednesday, Zob Ahan football team were held to a goalless draw at their home by Naft Msjed Soleyman.

Zob Ahan, who are under pressure after a series of poor results in IPL, shared the spoils with the Masjed Soleyman based football team at the Foolad Shahr Stadium.

It was the fourth game of Alireza Mansourian as Zob Ahan’s new head coach. In the last three games with Mansourian on the bench, Zob Ahan took only one point against Foolad Khuzestan football team.

"Frustrating," Zob Ahan boss Alireza Mansourian said in the post-match press conference. "We are mentally under pressure, not because of not winning the games but for lack of cutting edge in our matches.”

The result left Zob Ahan in 13th place with 13 points from 15 games, two points adrift of Naft Masjed Soleyman who are 10th with 15 points from the same number of games as Zob Ahan.
