Non-oil exports up 13% in 8 months yr/yr

TEHRAN- The value of Iran’s non-oil exports during the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-November 21) rose 13 percent compared to that of the same period of time in the previous year.

The country exported 75.27 million tons of non-oil products worth $31.491 billion during the eight-month period, IRNA reported citing the data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

IRICA data put Iran’s imports of non-oil goods at 21.498 million tons valued at $29.549 billion in the mentioned time span, showing 12.5 percent and 14 percent fall in terms of weight and value, respectively.
Gas condensate, liquefied propane, low-density oils and their byproducts except for gasoline, and methanol were the major exported products and corn as livestock food, auto parts, rice and soy bean were the main imported goods during the eight-month period of this year.

Iraq, China, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Afghanistan and India were the major export destinations of Iranian non-oil products, while China, UAE, South Korea, India and Germany were the main exporters of such goods to the country in the first eight months of this calendar year.

On November 28, Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri unveiled the package issued by resistance economy committee on June 18, 2018 to support non-oil exports announcing it to all the affiliated state-run organizations.

Jahangiri has required the Iranian Industry Ministry to attach Iran’s exports destinations and goals within ten days of the announcement of the package to it.

The ministry is also in charge of supervising the full implementation of the prepared package.

Iran’s non-oil exports stood at $46.931 billion in the past Iranian calendar year of 1396 (ended on March 20, 2018), with 6.56 percent growth from $44.42 billion in its preceding year.

The country’s imports of the non-oil products during the past calendar year stood at $54.302 billion, indicating 24.31 percent increase from the figure of its preceding year.
