TEHRAN – As the last lecturer at the Islamic unity conference in Tehran on Monday, Iranian Parliament speaker Ali Larijani said if Iran is opposed to Saudi Arabia it is because of Riyadh’s “strange behaviors” and its “crimes” against the Yemeni people.

The top lawmaker lament “arms race” in West Asia. Larijani also said if Tehran is critical of the UAE it is because the country is an accomplice in the atrocities against the Yemenis.

The top lawmaker also lamented the launching of an “arms race” in the West Asia region, saying the region does not need so many arms. He said one of the reasons for such a problem is that the U.S. wants to sell weapons for economic benefits.
