Iran’s Hashemi seizes gold at World Weightlifting Championships

TEHRAN – Iran’s Ali Hashemi won a gold medal at the 2018 IWF World Weightlifting Championships on Thursday.
Hashemi won the gold medal in the 102kg with a total of 396kg after lifting 179kg in the snatch and 217kg in the clean and jerk.
Ukraine’s Dmytro Chumak claimed a silver medal with 393kg over Iranian Reza Beiralvand with also 393kg due to lighter body weight.
On Wednesday, Sohrab Moradi of Iran had claimed a gold medal at the 96kg.
The 2018 World Weightlifting Championships are being held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from November 1 to 10.
