President Rouhani invited to AFC Champions League final
TEHRAN – Iran president Hassan Rouhani has been invited by Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to attend the AFC Champions League final.
Persepolis of Iran will meet Japan’s Kashima Antlers on Saturday at the Kashima Soccer Stadium in the first leg of the AFC Champions League.
The Iranian team will host Kashima Antlers in the second leg on Nov. 10 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and Rouhani has been invited to be present at the stadium.
Asian Football Confederation has invited 20 presidents of football federations around the world to attend the match as well as FIFA and UEFA officials.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Masoud Soltanifar said the Asian Football Confederation has invited Rouhani, vice president Eshaq Jahangiri and members of parliament for the final match.
