Iran’s 9-month crude steel output rises 20% on year: WSA

TEHRAN- Production of crude steel in Iran stood at 18.52 million tons during the first nine months of 2018, indicating 20 percent rise from 15.431 million tons in the same period of time in 2017, Iran’s Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported citing the data released by the World Steel Association (WSA).

The WSA report put the world’s steel producers’ output at 1.346 billion tons during the nine-month period of this year, indicating 7.4 percent growth from 1.253 billion tons in the same time span of the past year.

The WSA also put Iran’s crude steel output at two million tons in September of this year, with a 4.3-percent rise from 1.918 million tons in September of 2017.
