Iranian Supreme Court endorses death verdict against ‘gold coin sultan’

TEHRAN – The Iranian Judiciary confirmed on Sunday that the Supreme Court has confirmed death sentences against two individuals, including Vahid Mazloumi, for manipulating the gold coin and foreign currency markets.

Mazloumi has got the title of the “sultan of gold coin” for amassing 2.5 tons of gold coin.

“The cases of Vahid Mazloumin and Mohammad Esmaeil Ghassemi were reexamined at the State Supreme Court and the death verdict against them were confirmed,” Judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Eje’i told reporters.
