TEHRAN – Iran national wheelchair basketball team defeated Japan in the final match of the 2018 Asian Para Games to win the title.

On Saturday and in the final day of the Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Persians edged past Japan 68-66 at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Hall.

Earlier on the day, South Korea had defeated China 79-51 to win the bronze medal.

Iran’s women’s wheelchair basketball team finished in fourth place in the Games.

Wheelchair basketball is a unique version of basketball in which highly competitive athletes exhibit a high level of mastery in maneuvering the wheelchair and strong basketball techniques.
