TEHRAN – Managing director of Iran Water Resources Management Company said that 109 dams are under construction across the country, Tasnim news agency reported.

Mohammad Haj-Rasouliha also announced that construction of 52 dams have over 50 percent progress at the moment.

He said of the mentioned 109 dams, 43 dams should be operational by the end of the country’s Six Five-Year National Development Plan (March 2021), adding that completion of these 43 dams requires about 150 trillion rials (about $3.5 billion) which should be secured based on the priority of the dams.
