TEHRAN – Saudi Arabia is taking legal action on the cases of Iranian pilgrims who were killed in Al-Haram Mosque as well as in a hajj stampede in September 2015 in the city of Mina, the Leader’s representative for hajj affairs has said.

Saudi Arabia has been following up on the cases despite the frosty relations between Tehran and Riyadh, Ali Ghazi-Askar said, ISNA reported on Monday.

He said the office of Saudi Arabia’s representative in New York has sent a letter asking for the names of the martyrs and survivors of the two incidents, expressing the hope that the victims’ blood money be paid in the near future.
