Exports from mining sector up 15%

TEHRAN - Iran’s exports of minerals rose 15 percent in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 21) compared to the same period last year.

The value of exported minerals stood at about $5 billion in the mentioned time span, IRNA reported quoting Jafar Sarqini, deputy industry, mining and trade minister as saying on Monday.

Steel, copper, limestone and zinc are among the top minerals that Iran exports to many countries in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
