TEHRAN – A senior foreign policy advisor to the Iranian parliament speaker on Sunday praised Iraq for protecting its independence, unity and territorial integrity in the face of foreign invasion and terrorist groups, highlighting the Arab country’s role in stabilizing security in the region.

“Iraq has a major role in stabilizing security in the region,” Hossein Amir Abdollahian said in a meeting with a group of newly-elected Iraqi parliamentarians, Tasnim reported.

These are a great achievement for the Iraqi people, government, parliament and religious leadership, the advisor remarked.
