Iran beat Indonesia in FIBA U18 Asian Championship

TEHRAN – Iran started the FIBA U18 Asian Championship 2018 on a high note, defeating Indonesia 80-50 on Sunday.

Ali Kashani led the way for Iran with 16 points, four rebounds and one assist.

Indonesian Aldy Izzatur Rachman scored 12 points and added six rebounds.

Iran will face Kazakhstan and Japan respectively on Monday and Tuesday in Pool A.

The 2018 FIBA Under 18 Asian Championship is being held in Nonthaburi, Thailand from August 5 to 11.

The top four teams will qualify and will represent FIBA Asia in the 2019 FIBA Under 19 Basketball World Cup.

Pools:

Group A: Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia

Group B: China, Philippines, Lebanon, UAE

Group C: Australia, New Zealand, Bahrain, Thailand

Group D: Korea, Chinese-Taipei, India, Syria
