TEHRAN- Daily production of gas in Iran’s South Pars gas field (in the Persian Gulf) will be increased by 100 million cubic meters (mcm) by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2019), according to the managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), which is in charge of developing the field.

Mohammad Meshkinfam made the remarks during a visit of Gholamreza Manouchehri, the deputy for development and engineering in the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), to Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in Iran’s southwestern port city of Assaluyeh, Shana news agency reported.

During Manouchehri’s two-day visit to the zone, the POGC managing director released a report on the progress of mega projects underway in PSEEZ.

South Pars gas field, which Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf, is estimated to contain a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about eight percent of the world’s reserves, and approximately 18 billion barrels of condensate.
