TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent a message on Saturday to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday congratulating anniversary of the French national day, known as Bastille Day.

“I hope that we would witness expansion and consolidation of ties in various spheres through efforts and use of capacities and common views, and also [I hope] we would counter unilateralism which is being followed by certain countries and boost multilateralism,” Rouhani said in his message.

France’s national day marks one of the most symbolic moments of the French Revolution.
