TEHRAN – Head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) met with the Serbian ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday to discuss expansion of economic ties.

In the meeting, ICCIMA’s head Gholam-Hossein Shafeie mentioned Serbia’s significant economic growth in recent years, noting that mutual economic cooperation with Serbia is among Iran’s top priorities.

The official stressed the need for facilitating trade delegation exchanges, increasing the number of flights, while calling for visa waiver between the two countries.

According to Shafeie, concluding preferential trade agreements (PTA) and conducting free trade are among the important issues that should be considered at the June joint economic committee meeting.

Serbian Ambassador Dragan Todorovic, for his part, emphasized the importance of interaction between private sectors of the two sides.

He also called for launching joint ventures.

The fifteenth Iran-Serbia Joint Economic Committee meeting will be held in the Serbian capital, Belgrade, on June 20 and 21.
