TEHRAN – The National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) and the Grand People’s Study House in the North Korean capital of Pyongyang have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Tehran to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The MOU has been inked by NLAI director Ashraf Borujerdi and North Korea Ambassador Kang Sam-hyon, the NLAI announced in a press release published on Sunday.

Based on the MOU, the two parties agreed to develop academic cooperation and to expand cultural relations.

They also agreed to exchange cultural delegations, while the ambassador asked NLAI director to dedicate a section at the library to offer books on North Korean studies.

This is the second time Kang is visiting the library. The ambassador along with a North Korean delegation visited the library on April 17.
