Iran, Hungary sign MOU to publish Persian manuscripts
TEHRAN – The Library of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs have signed a memorandum of understating (MOU) to collaborate on the publication of Persian manuscripts.
The MOU was inked on Friday in the library in Budapest by the IPIS deputy director Ahmad Haji-Hosseini and the director-general of the library, István Monok, the Embassy of Iran in Budapest announced in a press release published on Friday.
Based on the MOU, both sides agreed to prepare copies of the manuscripts both in Persian and English.
The library also agreed to publish the English version of the manuscript in collaboration with Brill, a Dutch international academic publisher, while the Iranian side agreed to publish the Persian version.
The library plans to showcase a collection of its Persian manuscripts in an exhibition in the near future.
