Palestine’s Rashid Masharawi heading for Tehran with “Writing on Snow”
TEHRAN – Palestinian director Rashid Masharawi to attend the Fajr International Film Festival to promote his latest movie “Writing on Snow”, the organizers said on Monday.
The film portrays ideological, political, and geographic divisions in Palestine and the Arab world.
The film will be screened in the Broken Olive Branches section that focuses on the upheavals in today’s Muslim world.
This section will put its spotlight on the wars in Syria, Yemen and Myanmar this year.
“Writing on Snow” will also be competing in the Eastern Vista section, which is dedicated to movies from Asian directors.
The Carthage International Film Festival in Tunisia opened with screening the film in November 2017.
The 36th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival will take place in Tehran from April 19 to 27.
Numerous famous figures of the world cinema, including German cinematographer Thomas Mauch, French filmmaker Olivier Megaton, and Turkish director Semih Kaplanoglu, have also invited to the festival.
