TEHRAN – Olivier Megaton, director of the English language French action thriller films “Taken 2” and “Taken 3”, will attend the 36th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival in April, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

He is scheduled to hold workshops on action cinema at the festival, which will take place in Tehran from April 19 to 27.

Students from international film schools in 50 countries have applied to attend the workshops that will be held in the Dar-ul-Fonun educational section of the event.

Dar-ul-Fonun was initiated in the 34th edition of the festival to discover emerging talents among film students in Iran and other countries.

The educational section has been warmly received by foreign students, and a team of Iranian experts are examining applications to select 55 students from overseas film schools for the discovery camp, Dar-ul-Fonun director Maziar Miri said earlier on March 2.
