Agreement on Shiraz-Bushehr railway construction signed with Chinese Co.

TEHRAN- The agreement on construction of railway between Iran’s south-central city of Shiraz and the southwestern city of Bushehr, worth $700 million, was signed between Iranian Ministry of Transport and Urban Development and a Chinese company in Tehran on Wednesday.

The signing ceremony was attended by Iranian Transport Minister Abbas Akhoundi, the report said. 

As IRNA quoted the CEO of Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company of Iran, Iran is studying construction of 3,410 kilometers of railway, some parts of which have been inaugurated.

“Iran has seven projects on agenda waiting to be financed, which include 2,270 kilometers of railway and Shiraz-Bushehr railway is one of them,” he added.
