Iran’s Jaberi Ansari meets Syrian president

TEHRAN – Hossein Jaberi Ansari, the Iranian foreign minister's special assistant in political affairs, met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Sunday when the two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria.
Jaberi Ansari, who is visiting Syria at the head of a diplomatic delegation, is slated to hold bilateral meetings with other senior Syrian officials to exchange views on the other issues like the UN-backed Syria peace talks, the Astana peace process, and the Russian initiated congress of Sochi.
In their previous meetings, Assad and Jaberi Ansari talked about the prospect of resolving the Syrian crisis, especially in the framework of Astana and Geneva talks.
