TEHRAN - Kamal Kharrazi, head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, said on Wednesday that Muslims should cooperate in presenting a true image of Islam to the world.

“Definitely, the Syrian scholars play an important and effective role in this respect,” Kharrazi said during a meeting with a number of Syrian scholars.

He also said that Shiite and Sunni scholars are duty bound to take steps in line with boosting unity.

Kharrazi, a former foreign minister, added that Iran is ready to cooperate with the Syrian government and religious scholars in expanding ties and boosting unity.
