“Woodpecker” leads Fajr ten most popular movies

TEHRAN – “Woodpecker”, a drama that centers on the isolation of a female addict, topped the ten most popular movies at the 36th Fajr Film Festival, the organizer announced in a poll conducted online. 

Starring Sara Bahrami, Amin Hayai and Mahnaz Afshar, “Woodpecker” has been directed by Behruz Shoeibi. In addition, Mahmud Razavi is the producer of the film.

“Woodpecker” is followed by “Cold Sweat” by Soheil Beiraqi and “Lottery” by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian.

The other films are as follows in descending order of popularity: “The Lost Strait” by Bahram Tavakkoli, “Istanbul Junction” by Mostafa Kiai, “Don’t Be Embarrassed” by Reza Maqsudi, “The Underwater Cypress” Mohammad-Ali Basheh Ahangar, “Sheeple” by Hooman Seyyedi, “At Damascus Time” by Ebrahim Hatamikia and “Bomb, a Love Story” by Peyman Maadi.

The results of the poll may change before the end of the festival on February 11. The leading movie on the list will receive the best audience award during the closing ceremony of the event.
