TEHRAN – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov on Monday met with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Safeguards Tero Varjoranta to discuss the Iran deal and other issues.

According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed a series of crucial issues on the IAEA’s agenda, including Iran’s nuclear program, the IAEA’s possible role in the context of resolving the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, as well as the reform of the IAEA safeguards system.

Iran and six world powers concluded the nuclear deal, also called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), back in 2015.
