Financial partners have not paid Babak Zanjani’s debt: oil minister

TEHRAN – Foreign-based partners of Babak Zanjani, an Iranian billionaire and business magnate, had contacted the Judiciary vowing to pay his debt to the Oil ministry, but so far they have not made any payments, the oil minister announced on Saturday.
“They have also entered into some negotiations, but haven’t made any repayments,” said Bijan Zangeneh, according to IRNA.
He also said that Zanjani's debt, with its interest, has reached $3.5bn, while all his assets that have been transferred to the Oil Ministry is nearly about $570m.
