Major steel producers’ output at 12.775m tons in 9 months
TEHRAN- Iran’s major steel producers produced 12.775 million tons of crude steel during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-December 21, 2017), Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) announced.
The country’s crude steel output stood at 18.466 million tons in the past Iranian calendar year 1395 (ended on March 20, 2017), showing 11 percent rise from 16.656 million tons in 1394.
Iran exported 5.5 million tons of crude steel in the past year, with 27 percent increase from the figure of its preceding year.
The country’s crude steel output and exports are anticipated to reach 22 million tons and 6-8 million tons, respectively, by the end of current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2018).
Iran’s 1404 (March 2025-March 2026) Outlook Plan has envisaged 55 million tons of steel production.
