Iran claim Zurkhaneh & Koshti Pahlavani Asian Championships title
Iran won the title of the 6th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Palahvani Championship for the sixth time on Friday.
In the competitions held in Tanauan City, the Philippines, the Iranian team claimed a gold medal in team event and five golds out of six golds in individual skills.
In mil bazi, Hamidreza Kordi claimed the title, scoring 617 points. The Iraqi representative finished in second place with 466 points. The bronze medal was won jointly by athletes from the Philippines and Nepal.
Amin Shahriari won the gold in heavy mil with 2610 points. The Iraqi athlete bagged the silver with 1931 points.
Tajikistan and South Korea jointly claimed the bronze medal.
Iran’s Farid Amini beat his Iraqi rival in sang event final to win the gold medal. Representatives from Tajikistan and India took the bronze medal.
In charkh-e tiz, Ali Jaliljoo from Iran bagged the gold medal with 549 points. The Iraqi participant snatched the silver with 315 points. Sportsmen from the Philippines and Singapore won the bronze medal.
The gold medal went to Jalal Salehi from Iran in charkh-e chamani. He came first with 1088 points, while his Iraqi rival finished in second place with 334 points.
The Nepalese and athlete from the Philippines both stood in third place.
In kabbadeh, Jaber Sabri from Iran defeated Hamidreza Kordi from Iran to win the gold medal.
Sabri stood first with 606 points and Kordi scored 305 points.
The athletes from Nepal and India won the bronze.
The Iranian wrestlers also seized two golds, two silvers and one bronze in Koshti Pahlaveani.
Iran won the 6th Asian Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Palahvani Championship, followed by Iraq.
Nepal and the Philippines jointly finished in third place.
