TEHRAN – National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) has received the European Union (EU)’s shipping monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) regulation certificate, Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.

According to the company, NITC was awarded this certificate due to its compliance with environment friendly activities and its efforts to reduce Carbone dioxide.

The primary aim of this regulation is for reducing CO2 emissions from maritime transport. It was adopted by European Council (EC) and entered into force on July 1, 2015.
