Imad Mughniyeh’s father passes away
Fayez Mughniyeh, the father of Imad Mughniyah, died on Thursday.
Fayez had 3 boys that all of them, most notably Imad Mughniyah, were martyred by Israel.
Imad Mughniyah was a senior member of Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement. Fayez Mughniyeh was a member of Hezbollah too.
Reportedly, Imad was among the founders of Hezbollah in the 1980s. He was martyred on the night of February 12, 2008 by a car bomb that detonated as he passed by on foot in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood of Damascus, Syria. Imad was reportedly assassinated in a joint Mossad-CIA operation that required special approval from president George W. Bush.
The U.S. helped build the bomb and had CIA spotters on the ground in the Syrian capital tailing him, but the explosion that killed him was triggered remotely from Israel, according to a report in The Washington Post.
