Iranian, Italian orchestras to take “Divine Martyrs” to Rome church
TEHRAN -- The Tehran Symphony Orchestra choir and Italy’s World Youth Orchestra will perform “Where Art Thou, Divine Martyrs” composed by Hushang Kamkar, at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome on December 3.
The joint concert is scheduled to be repeated in Tehran on December 6, Iran’s Rudaki Foundation announced in a press release on Monday.
Razmik Ohanian will conduct the choir as Tehran Symphony Orchestra conductor Shahrdad Rohani will be in Rome to attend the performance, which will be conducted by Damiano Giuranna of the World Youth Orchestra.
Compositions from the album “Persian Garden” by Rohani are scheduled to be performed at the concert.
The Tehran Symphony Orchestra and Italy’s World Youth Orchestra gave joint performances in Tehran in August, 2016.
Maestro Giuranna also held a series of master classes at the Culture and Art Applied Science University in Tehran in February, 2017.
