TEHRAN – Defense Minister Amir Hatami has said that the Islamic Republic is able to strongly counter all domestic and foreign threats, Mehr reported on Wednesday.

In a meeting with MPs sitting on the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Hatami discussed Iran’s defense capabilities, saying Tehran has “adopted a deterrence policy, and will not be pressured by any foreign threats or sanctions.”

The brigadier general also denounced the U.S. for imposing sanctions on the IRGC, the country’s defense capabilities and missile technology, saying the enemies are trying in vain to weaken Iran.
