Italian museum to showcase jewelry collection by Iranian designers
TEHRAN – A collection of jewelry created by a group of promising young Iranian designers will be showcased at the Bijou Museum of Casalmaggiore in the Italian city of Cremona in an exhibition opening on Saturday.
Entitled “Splendid Persia, Visions in Jewels”, the exhibit will be curated by Iranian designer Sogand Nobahar, and historian and jewelry critic from Milan Bianca Cappello, the authentic Italian business hub for gold and jewelry Vicenzaoro has announced.
The exclusive selection belongs to the history of Persia and reviews the influence of its charm on contemporary Iranian jewelry, detecting its echo on great Italian jewelry since the 60s to this day.
Works by Mostafa Daneshi, Zahra Najafi, Shiva Qorbani, Sanaz Armaghan, Aylin Abrishami, Nogol Zahabi and several other designers have been selected for the exhibition, which will run until January 28, 2018.
The artists are studying conceptual jewelry design at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan.
In addition, Italian photographer Federico Wilhelm is scheduled to put a collection of his photos of Iran on display at the museum at the same time.
