Iran places opening EU office on agenda

TEHRAN – Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri says the Foreign Ministry has been tasked with opening a European Union (EU) office in Tehran, Tasnim news agency reported.

In a meeting with the European Union Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan on Saturday, Jahangiri described Iran as a reliable partner for the EU.

He further urged the EU to expand cooperation with Tehran, saying, “Iran has a long history of economic cooperation with European Union countries, and the majority of reputable European firms have had a presence in Iran.”
