TEHRAN – Mahmoud Sadeqi, a reformist parliamentarian from Tehran and a member of the coordination council of reformists, said on Monday that Hadi Khamenei has agreed to become the president of the council.

Hojjatoleslam Hadi Khamenei is an influential reformist politician and a key member of the reformist Association of Combatant Clerics.

Sadeqi denied reports that Khamenei had been reluctant to take over the rotating presidency of the council.

He also said the council has not yet reached a conclusion on its future policies, Fars reported.
