Pakistan mulling over raising electricity imports from Iran

TEHRAN – Pakistan is considering the import of 100 megawatts (MW) of additional electricity from Iran to meet the growing electricity demand in Gawadar, Pakistan Today reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, some 104 MW power is supplied to Gawadar area from Iran through 132kv interconnection lines between Pakistan and Iran.
In addition, installation of 300 MW imported coal-based power plant at Gawadar has also been planned under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, the sources added.
