TEHRAN – The secretary of Iran's Expediency Council, pointing to the independence referendum in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, said on Wednesday “this is in the interest of Israel and those who want to expand insecurity in the region.”
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a local ceremony, Mohsen Rezaei said Kurdistan needs “security, development and progress” and any kind of conflict halts achieve these aims.
“We must preserve the territorial integrity of countries and prevent the change of geographical boundaries,” the former IRGC chief stressed.
