TEHRAN - Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran’s deputy parliament speaker, said on Wednesday that Islamic countries should be united against enemies.

“The first step is creating unity among the various ethnic groups inside the Islamic countries,” the pro-reform senior lawmaker said in a conference on terrorism.

No country can infiltrate into Islamic countries if there is unity among them, he remarked.

It is essential to raise awareness in the Islamic countries to avoid division among the Muslims which only serves the interests of the U.S. and its allies, noted Pezeshkian who was health minister from 2001-2005.
