Iran’s House of Parties learns new chairman

TEHRAN – The presiding board of Iran’s House of Parties voted 19-0 to Hossein Kamali on Monday as its new chairman for a one-year term.

Kamali is currently secretary-general of the Islamic Labour Party. He was previously Minister of Labour and Social Affairs from 1989 until 2001 under the Rafsanjani and Khatami administrations. 
House of Parties of Iran is a non-governmental organization, consisting of legal and registered political parties.
The association was founded in 1997 and is backed by the Iranian government.
