Rouhani meets senior foreign officials
TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met on Saturday with a number of senior officials from various countries who were in Tehran to attend his inauguration ceremony.
In a meeting with Iraqi President Fuad Masum, Rouhani said that Iran supports “national unity” and “integrity” in Iraq.
He also attached great importance to Iraq’s security and stability, noting Iraq’s “territorial integrity” must be protected.
Masum called for expansion of relations with neighboring Iran.
In a separate meeting with South Korean National Assembly speaker Chung Sye-kyun, Rouhani highlighted the necessity of expanding economic relations.
The president also called for expanding banking ties.
For his part, Chung called for investment of the South Korean private sector in Iran and expressed support for expansion of ties.
Rouhani also met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
