TEHRAN – Tehran’s ambassador to Moscow has said trade volume between Iran and Russia could reach up to $10 billion in the medium term from the $2-billion high in 2016.

“We believe with the planning set trade volume between Iran and Russia can hit $10 billion,” Mehdi Sanaei told the Persian language Iran newspaper published on Tuesday.

The current $2-billion trade volume does not match the great potentialities the two sides, he added.

During a March visit to Moscow, presidents of Russian and Iran signed 14 documents to expand cooperation in various fields.
