Iran’s climber Alipour wins gold at The World Games 2017

Iranian speed climber Reza Alipour won the country’s first gold medal in The World Games history on Sunday.

Alipour registered multiple times below 5.70 seconds on route to winning the first gold medal.

His opponent Danyil Boldyrev from Ukraine had a false start in the game.

Stanislav Kokorin from Russia won the bronze medal.

The World Games, first held in 1981, are an international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested in the Olympic Games

 The World Games are organized and governed by the International World Games Association (IWGA), recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
